Reuse is the best option since many latex-based adhesives hinder the recycling process. Until new water-based glues are more widely used, refrain from putting books in paper collections. And attention needs to be given to the bleaching processes used in papermaking; dioxin is a toxic byproduct of chlorine bleaching.
